Greg Pawlica is a doer. He has been on the Board
of the Steppin' Out Foundation which hosts the annual AIDS walk for
many years. He has been an active member and board member of the Ferndale
Community Foundation for several years and is a member of the Ferndale
Police and Fire board. Greg is the kind of person who can be counted
on to help with whatever cause needs a helping hand - the Pub Crawl
and Annual Blues Festival are just a couple examples of events that
have been the beneficiaries of Gregs energy and enthusiasm.
When my brother, a member of the 338th Army Band,
approached me about doing a free concert in Ferndale, I called Greg.
Greg immediately offered his assistance. In fact, he did all of the
advertising, posters, and press releases, and anything else we asked
him to do and more. That successful concert would never have happened
without Greg.
Greg also comes equipped with his own tuxedo! A very
warm and gracious man, he utilized his talents at the microphone recently
to MC both the FernCares for Music at AJS Cafe and the FernCare
Dinner fundraiser. Both events were a huge success, in large part
to Greg's gentle guidance and confidence.
Beyond the events and committees that Greg has been
involved in, it is his genuine personal concern for other people in
Ferndale that makes him truly a good neighbor. We hear that it is
not unusual for Greg to call on some of his older neighbors just to
make sure they are okay during some of our wicked Michigan winter
days.
